The Darjeeling Limited

The Darjeeling Limited is a Wes Anderson movie.
In it there are three brothers, Frances, Peter, and Jack, who's father have died. Frances (the eldest) decides that they need to travel through India by train, in order to "find themselves". Jack has recently been dealing with a complicated and unhappy relationship with a phsyco girlfriend. Peter has a pregnant wife at home, who is due to give birth in 6 weeks. Frances has recently been in a motorcycle accident, resulting in facial injuries, which require lots of bandaging. The movie shows the insanity that insues on the brother's "spiritual journey".
Now, I usually hate it when movies or books have obvious metaphors and morals. However, The Darjeeling Limited is chock full of metaphors, and yet it is still an excellent movie. For example: they go to this Indian market where Jack buys pepper spray, Peter buys shoes, and Frances buys a power adapter. Frances' metaphor is that he is always wishing that people would be the way he wants them to be, and that things would go his way, hence the power adapter. Peter's shoes are because he has a road ahead of him, he's going to have a kid for god's sake. And poor Jack needs the mace because peeps are always taking advantage of him.
